Tree Removal

Who am I?

I'm Bryan Webb. A father, rocket test engineer, potter, hiker, forager, amateur mycologist, and serial hobbyist.

My pottery journey started in my cousin Joy's studio, nestled in an unused corner of the Builder's Supply of Smithville, TN. A few of us invaded her space a handful of times, just long enough to make a few pots, talk trash, and leave a big mess in our wake. I loved the whole process at the time but gave little serious thought to taking it any further than a fun fling. Fast forward 17 years (a marriage to an incredible woman, the birth of my two kids, four different jobs, and untold hobbies) to a lazy Thanksgiving weekend in 2023 at my in-law's house, where I hopped on my mother-in-law Rhonda's wheel and reignited a sleeping hunger to create with clay. That same afternoon, I bought a wheel on a Black Friday sale and haven't been able to stop spinning clay since.

I've always been enamored by the outdoors, from backpacking all over North Carolina and Tennessee to foraging for mushrooms in the forests of Mt. Rainier. A love for all things that are green and grow permeates my life. At times I feel like I’d be more at home in Hobbiton than anywhere else. That love of trees, plants, and fungi seeps into everything I create, from painting to pottery. I make art that mimics nature in some form or fashion, but the high I'm always chasing is abstractly channeling the forest. I’d like to say I get into a flow state and voila something appears in my hands as if by magic, but that’s not really me. My creative process is a little slower. My designs and ideas develop the more time I spend with them. I like to think my creative process is more akin to a growing tree: slow and natural…at least for me.

Thanks for listening!

Let's Stay in Touch

I swear I'll only use these powers for good...unless you're super into chain letters and want to get weird...I'm looking at you, Martha.
